EMV Chip Debit and Credit MasterCards®
Our new EMV Chip debit and credit cards contain an embedded chip that uses secure technology to make it harder to copy your account information, better protecting you from fraud.
The EMV chip is essentially a tiny computer. It’s harder to replicate a chip card than a magnetic-stripe card, as the chip creates a unique impression every time it is used.
Chip-enabled terminals are coming to stores throughout the U.S. so you'll be ready to use your card when you see the new terminals. You’ll enjoy greater acceptance when traveling because chip cards are common in over 130 countries around the world, including Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.
Easy to Use.
Check out at retailers with chip-enabled terminals by simply inserting the card and following the prompts. Check out as you normally would by swiping at retailers without chip-enabled terminals or by providing your card information for over the phone and online purchases.
Look for your Free EMV card update to arrive with your next scheduled reissue.
Please note: Requesting an EMV card to replace your magnetic stripe card before your scheduled reissue date will trigger a $5.00 replacement card fee unless, of course, replacement is due to a compromise or theft.
